Fall is all about color. This is the time when Mother Nature brings out her paint pallet and colors the landscape with warm beautiful colors of reds, browns, maroons, yellow and purple. Fall is the time to put away summer colors and summer decorations and transform the home into a warm welcoming space. Decorating for fall means decorating with warm colors, dried flowers and wreaths, scents of autumn, cinnamon and spice and candles. Here is how to take your home from summer into fall without breaking your budget. Go through each room and remove anything that speaks of summer. Take down the pictures at the beach; put away the sand candle and the shells. Remove the pillows with the cute little fish and sea horses. Pack them away until next year. Next scour the house, the closets, attic, and the pantry for anything fall colored. Glass ware , bowls, fabric, candles, frames, mirrors, pillows, throws, throw rugs, pictures, any thing in brown, orange ,yellow, green, red, maroon and purple . With a sharp pair of garden shears go out to the garden or yard and look for dried material. Weeds are only plants growing in an unwanted place, so if they are dried and look good, cut them down and bring them inside. Grasses, foxtails, tree branches, herbs, and dried flowers can all be used. Also gather different varieties of colors and shapes of leaves.
